Owning a Pet

Meet my lovable Cavoodle, Cupid. He’s a Cavalier Kings Charles Spaniel cross Toy Poodle.

He’s been with me since I was in Sydney.

Birthday: August 29, 2006

When I was in Sydney he was a source of inspiration and strength. It’s really amazing how a pet can save your sanity! You don’t know what love means until you have your own pet. He is part of the family and everyone else loves him. He’s just the right size for inside the house and he’s always good to kids. He’s even scared of the kids instead of the kids being scared of a big fluffy dog!

He loves cuddles and tummy rubs. He likes carrots and Doritos as treats. He is an exceptional runner, loves the car and road trips!

Happiness is when you come home from a tiring stressful day at work and all you can see is his happy wagging tail because you’re finally home. That moment there always makes me smile and feel loved. J

My 25 Things: Learning how to Drive

Learning How to Drive

Not everyone will think this is an accomplishment but with all the years and rules I had to go through to get my full license this was worth blogging for. Since my husband and my grandma taught me how to drive manual in the Philippines, driving automatic here was kinda easier EXCEPT I had to be on the other side of the car and the other side of the road. Gave me a headache the first few times I was in the car but had to get over it. I am proud to say that in all my driving tests, I passed first go! Amazing since most of the Aussies I know had to re-do a few tests. Grinning ear to ear was in my every photo cause I was that excited to pass every time!

In Sydney there are 4 levels of licenses, Learners, Red P, Green P then Full license. Learner drivers always need a Full licensed driver to guide them. Red P Platers can drive but only to 90kms/hr. Green P Platers can drive to 110kms/hr and Full license drivers can drive according to the speed limit and are allowed to have 1 standard drink and drive home. Not sure if they’ve changed the rules now but that’s what it was when I was driving then. Even if I’m a full licensed driver now, I still don’t drink! Too scared of the cops! Haha.

Right now, all I'm waiting for is my new licence with my new surname :) Woohoo!

My 25 Things: Graduating

24. Graduating

Graduating was one of the highlights for me since it was the purpose of me travelling and moving to Australia. Going to school everyday, spending time with other international students made it feel so normal to be away from family. We were all in the same boat but I kinda was different since I was the only one who had family inAustralia. Everyone else had to find their own place, share a bedroom with a few other students just to make the most out of it. All my other classmates from Japan, Switzerland, Slovakia, China, Bhutan, Malaysia etc, were so friendly going to school was a breeze. I didn’t mind the broken English either! We were learning each other’s languages it was so cool. I wish I had more time to learn Japanese and Chinese though!

Best part is we graduated at the Parliament House in Canberra! That was an awesome experience! Walking through the halls of the House of Representatives not all students get to march there! I felt so important hah!! The train ride was not bad either. Every once in a while we’d see wild kangaroos near the tracks, I wish at that time I had an SLR already, my photos would’ve been cooler.

Fun Fact about the Australian Coat of Arms:

They used the Kangaroo and Emu because they are the only animals that can't walk backwards and Australia wants to portray that it should be the same,

My 25 Things

I didn’t’ realise making a list of what I’ve accomplished and what I want to do now I’m 25 was going to be a challenge. But this is me giving thanks to God for giving me more than what I need in the past, what I have right now and for my future.

I’ll split it with 8 each leaving number 25 a surprise J

What I’ve accomplished so far…

I’ve always thought about what I would become when I grow up, so now I’m all grown up but not that mature I think I can say I somehow made it… The journey was all worth while trying to accomplish these things, so here goes..

25.Moving to Australia

The decision to move was that easy I moved within 3months of knowing I could migrate. My Sydney family accepted me and made me feel like I wasn’t missing out on anything so that made the transition easier.

I did miss out 3years of all the important gatherings, birthday’s, anniversaries, Christmas, New Year and all the other holidays with my family but I can say, growing up that way was worth it. I learned so much, I’m thanking God for that opportunity.

Not everyone can see the Opera House from the Harbour Bridge everyday which to me was nothing short of being so blessed and amazing.

The Make Up Artist:
It felt good hanging out with Sabs. We were schoolmates during HighSchool. I was a freshman and she was a senior. During the Senior-Freshman Acquaintance day she was my "Big Sister" That day, I was given the full make up while going around campus. So when I heard and saw in magazines that she pursued a career by making all the brides pretty during their big day, I wasn't surprised. I was so giddy and happy that she was free for our wedding! When Jong bought me wedding magazines, it was so nice to see her name written on almost every page as the make up artist :) Coolness. After I booked Sabs, I couldn't stop bragging about it to my HS friends!

Thank you Sabs and Tony for making me look super girly that day :) Jong loved it!

So curious I was a stalker. So excited I was that kid from Despicable me shouting "OMG it's so fluffy I'm gonna die!!!" Yeah that feeling.

Every update of their blog, I was waiting and asking for more. For the first time during wedding preps, I had the "This is it" moment. I asked Jong to book them and made it a non-negotiable.
Ultimately I was emailing Lisa and sharing nonsense stories. It was like talking to an old friend you haven't seen for a very long time, yep, I felt that close. Haha. Anyways,with lots and lots of planning and location changes before the engagement session none of those plans came true. It was all about what we felt that day, no props, no balloons, no flowers, just us.

"I remember when I was about 5 or 6, during Christmas when all the gifts have been given and its time to give out money, we would line up to Daddy and he would give me a whole heap of 5peso bills! As a young one, I thought I was rich already! That I could buy practically anything I want! But I always gave it to my parents so I can put it in my bank account and all that.. But about an inch thickness of 5 peso bills! Haha!! My Daddy loves to whistle at night, he whistles anything, although I dont know the tunes he whistles to, everytime I see him he'd be smiling.. My Daddy also loved walking, he takes public transport all the time and doesn't even complain one bit!

There is no other way to end a conversation with Daddy except for the words I love you, he sees to it that every phone call, those would be his last words... Daddy will always be remembered as the Man who was always there...."

This excerpt was made by me 3years ago... After reading this, it felt like I was in a time travel and that we just laid Daddy to rest. Daddy missed our wedding, he would've been so proud and happy but I know that day he was there. He made sure that everything went perfect for me and Jong, he made sure that everything was in order. He was there tied to my bouquet so he can see everything up close.

Thanks Dad.

Daddy I'm sure you're happy wherever you are, playing chess and whistling till your opponent makes his move. I wish I can have that one more hug Dad. I miss you.

Me so Happy!!

Only 1 week to go before Kamille's big day! My bride from Australia had her trial session today with me and Tony. They were having their prenup pictorial today and Tony and I agreed that this was the perfect look for her.

Kamille is very kalog so a more casual and yet sweet was the way to go.

I airbrushed her makeup, contour and cheeks and did everything else by hand,

which is still the best for precision. LOVELY!

I just love iridescent powders!

FINALLY :)

After waiting for what seemed like forever, I can surely say, it was worth the wait!

We had a simple ceremony at the Perth Registry around 2:30pm. My uncle and aunty came as our witnesses and my cousins who couldn't go home for the church wedding were there to cheer us on.

It was a perfect day for a wedding, we took photos around Kings Park, South Perth foreshore and at Dome.

Course of events for the day:

10am - picked up my dress from Collezione
1030am - Had our healthy lunch at Subway
11am on our way home
12pm - preparation for the ceremony
1pm - My Uncle arrives with his videocam and took photos of us with Cupid
130pm - Photos at Kings Park
2pm - Walked through the busport to get to the registry, heaps of people were congratulating us and smiling at us.. it was a good feeling :)
230pm - The Celebrant arrives and tells us to move to the ceremony room
245pm - Found out Hunny's name was spelled incorrectly!
250pm - The legal requirements were read while our cousins kept taking photos
3pm - We were legally married!!

We thanked the Lord for all His abundant blessings to us.
For good things come to those who wait...

Orange is a power color. It is one of the healing colors. It is said to increase the craving for food. It also stimulates enthusiasm and creativity. Orange means vitality with endurance. People who like orange are usually thoughtful and sincere.

Why I picked Orange:

Cause I love Tigger! Orange depicts bouncy-happy-fun-fun-fun!

And that basically represents me!

Symbolism of Purple

Purple has been used to symbolize magic and mystery, as well as royalty. Being the combination of red and blue, the warmest and coolest colors, purple is believed to be the ideal color.

Why we picked Purple:

Purple means Royalty! (Plus it was the only color that I could think of that can go well with Orange, other people might disagree but it is our wedding after all! Haha!)

This is the ultimate Chick flick for me. (Plus it was the first movie Hunny and I watched together)

My cousin told me the reason the movie was called "A Walk to Remember" but they didn't show it in the movie. The real reason (and I base this solely cause my cousin said so) is that Mandy Moore's character(Jamie Sullivan) was so sick she had was in a wheel chair. When she was about to be wheeled in towards her groom (Landon Carter played by Shane West) for the wedding march, she stood up and walked!

That's why it was called a walk to remember because it was the ultimate walk of love.

Mother's Day May 9 2010

Our priest, Fr.Al dedicated the mass to all mothers and reminded them that in everything they do they are appreciated. He also asked all the kids to say thanks to mum and dad for providing for them. And then Fr. Al shared his version of the joke for mums.

There was a married man that didn't appreciate his wife and just thinks that his wife had a luxurious life by just staying at home and not doing anything. So in a prayer that night he asked God if they can swap so he can let his wife know how hard it is to go to work. With His wisdom he agreed and when the husband woke up he had swapped bodies with his wife. As a mum he then prepared breakfast, got the coffee ready for the husband, woke up the kids, prepared their breakfast, took them to school, took the dry cleaning, did the banking, did the grocery shopping, by the time she got home it was 1pm. So she cleaned the house, fixed the beds, washed the dog and it was time to pick up the kids. So she picked them up, when they got home helped them with their homework, then got the dinner ready. She peeled all the vegetables, and cooked the meat and then they had dinner. After dinner, she cleaned up and got the dishwasher started, gave the kids a bath and put them to bed. And after all that, she was expected to make love to her husband.

That morning, he realised that being a housewife wasn't easy at all and knelt beside the bed and prayed "Dear Lord, I now appreciate what my wife does, can you please swap our bodies again so I can be at work and she can do this all over again" Because our dear Lord had infinite wisdom he understood that the husband now appreciated the wife so he said to the husband "I am happy to swap your bodies again, but you have to wait 9 more months as you got pregnant last night!"

And everyone at churched laughed. It was a good time to enjoy the homily and after that Fr. Al asked all the mothers to line up to receive one long stem flower from the church. He then asked all mums, soon-to-be-mums and engaged women to receive a flower. It was an awesome feeling to get one :)

After mass Fr.Al asked everyone to stay back for some tea and coffee. I got my slice of cake and here they are! :)

Spent the rest of the day eating and playing with Cupid :)

Was talking to my brother's gf/friend/fan/special someone and somehow got to the topic of weddings... Apparently my mom said that they shouldn't have a grand wedding... Haha!! Not even sure if they're planning to get married yet! Parents.. They say the weirdest things!

I messaged Hunny and asked him if ours was grand and he said that it was because we were spending X amount of pesos for it...

So I said, but according to Australian Weddings it is not especially if we converted it...So up until today, I didn't really think our wedding was that big... *sigh*

I actually apologised cause that made me realised it was me who wanted everything for the wedding... particularly Photographer and Videographer, those were my dream picks... and Hunny actually agreed on them and even surprised me to have my all time favorite videographer as one of his Wedding Gifts!! :) Woohoo!! :)

Are you smiling at me or is it just my imagination?

I was walking Cupid yesterday, when I looked up and saw this image in the sky.
I thought it was Him trying to play games with me. More so, trying to nudge me to smile back. So I did.

I've been reading a few blogs that people have been down lately.

Things are not going well with their wedding preps, misunderstandings, break ups, weddings not going through... On the up side there are others that are happy preparing, saving, thinking of other lovely DIY ideas for their own special day...

What I can say to those that are down... Do not worry. It may seem like dark and gloomy at your side for now but all will be better. Leave it up to Him.

To all those who are happy busy preparing for their big day, I say good luck and continue living with positivity. You are blessed to have someone to share all the love in the world with.

But, what do you choose today?

Will you choose to be sad and gloomy or will you choose to be happy and make the most of everything else you have in your life?

Cause I only had a few days in Manila, planning for a surprise took months before February.. :)

Good thing my cousin was an avid customer of Laya. I got the idea so I could surprise hunny... Simple but awesome surprise :)

Location: It might be a bit far and tricky to get to but once you take a seat, it will be all worth the wait. Plus who doesn't want to have that story of the road trip that got you lost. Hahaha! Especially when your friend texts you "pagkatapos ng andoks turn right then andun na un" When he actually meant "Manok ni San Pedro" Hahahaha!

Food: Amazing. Course per course, the presentation was picture worthy. The only thing was Hunny forgot to take photos of his food before he ate it! He was that excited! Hunny and I kept laughing, reminiscing our trip to Phuket, it was definitely a good night. It wasn't too busy. It wasn't too crowded but you can feel that that dinner would lead to a perfect night out.

Ambiance: Romantic. Simple. Breathtaking.

Surprises: I made little things for hunny, a simple note, a simple photo, a writing on an envelope with how I feel, and our phuket keychains :)

Chef Ricci and Ms Irene: Ms Irene was in on the secrets. Big Thank you for saying yes to giving the little surprises :) Chef Ricci presented us with lovely food! Team Laya FTW! For me, Chef Ricci was like Amorsolo with the food presentation. Ms Irene was super friendly and was the most courteous host of the evening. Hunny said he was having nosebleed while I was talking to her. Funny :)

In conclusion: THE BEST!

So I've been blog hopping recently and found some interesting wedding sites.
I think I might have wedding information overload.

Then it struck me.

Is it really worth it?

Is it really worth spending $xxxx.xx amount of dollars for a wedding?
Is it really worth for people to take leave, fly for hours just to witness two people celebrate their love for each other in front of God?
Is it really?

After much thought and deliberation to myself, I concluded
YES IT IS.

1. This celebration is for US.
2. The sacrifices and presence of our friends and relatives is very much appreciated.
3. All the suppliers we chose will definitely make a difference to the celebration.
4. Our family might get chaotic before, during and after the wedding, but it's all going to be worth it.
5. A wedding is not a wedding without who you want to be there to celebrate with you.
6. When you want something, you should not short-change yourself.
7. If you want it, go and get it.
8. Always remember,You deserve it! The last thing you want to remember after your wedding is the thought that "I wish I did this, I wish I had that, I wish we got them, I wish....."

So, with this in mind I am at ease.

Hunny and I have picked who we want to be at the wedding.
We have agreed on every supplier.
There might have been some debates, but we booked who we thought was right for us. Accepting that some might be lucrative in their rates but geez, their output is something you will remember forever.

Singapore

What to expect:
1. Clean surroundings.
2. Easy to understand Public Transport.
3. Cheap but tasty local food.
4. No tissues/serviettes served in any food court /restaurant. Don’t forget to bring your own!
5. If locals can’t speak English properly, they won’t try to understand you to you no matter how you explain or how you use your hands. Always be prepared and know the vicinity by getting maps and reading signs.
Major Suggestions for the best experience in Singapore:
6. Take the glass cable car to Sentosa
7. Airport shuttle to your hotel $9SGD per person. Cheaper than taking a cab!
8. The $3SGD noodle beside Value Hotel Thompson is the best for value for money!
9. Don’t be scared when they talk to you in Singaporean thinking you’re a local. Just smile and quietly walk away. Haha!
10. It does get very humid at times; bring summer clothes, sunscreen, shades and a camera!

Sunway Lagoon: Tips and Things to Remember
1. Find out how far it is from your hotel, especially if Sunway is a place you’d really like to visit during your stay in Malaysia. Make sure you have transportation booked for drop off and pick up; you don’t want to get duped by expensive/unmetered taxis around the area.
2. If you are only there for a day trip, don’t bring bulky items or if you have to bring bags, deposit them in lockers located near the pools. You can even have your locker for an hour; the only catch is it will automatically open after an hour! Isn’t that a scary thought if you’re having so much fun and forgot the time?!
3. Located around the area are long water rides that have hidden surprises and in all of them you’ll definitely get wet! It not like those rides that splash water only on your legs, these rides will surely drench you and your clothes!
4. When riding the flying fox, bulky bags are not allowed as you end up in the lower end of the pool. Shoes are not allowed as well. If you didn’t leave your things in the locker earlier, it is unfortunate that one of you will have to miss out in riding. You also have to be prepared for the hike to the top of the tower! Be safe, listen to the trainer facilitators, slide and enjoy the ride!
5. Bring sunscreen, the UV gets extreme at times in Malaysia; enjoy the water, the pools do look refreshing!
6. It’s better if you arrive early in the morning so you don’t have to queue for a long time with the flying fox, Grand Canyon, buffalo water slide, etc.
7. There are shower areas that are set up like a carwash; you walk in and water will just burst out of the Aztec designed walls. Our friends didn’t know it was automatic and when they posed for a photo; they got soaked with the sudden burst of water! (Haha!)
8. I do recommend you try out the ATV ride! It’s always been popular; get in early so you don’t have to queue long. We did wait around half an hour for our turn even if we were there early. The actual ATV ride was around 10mins because when we were there, half of the ATV Park was getting renovated. (Bummer!)
9. There are food stalls around the whole lagoon so you’re sure you won’t get hungry! If any case that you don’t like to eat at the Lagoon, the Sunway Pyramid is right beside it. One of the biggest mall’s I’ve ever been to.
10. Last but not the least, walk, run and jump across the longest suspended bridge!! Don’t forget to look down! 

[Travel] Genting Highlands - Temple Hopping

Genting is 45mins drive from KL City; it took us longer to get there from the airport because the airport was 45mins away from the City!
It was a good trip to KL. Every day was cloudy in the morning, sunny in the afternoon then sometimes raining at night.

This trip was memorable since we had our best mates Sheena and Gabe with Sheena's sisters Sharmaine and Sheryl with us. Good people, good vibes, memorable trip!

Can't wait to plan that next trip! :)

Genting Highlands was the only place in KL where there's a Theme park, Casinos, Temples and three hotels all in one location. It can be described as an isolated city on top of a mountain.

Maybe the next time we visit, we can spend some money at the casino!

[Travel] Sky Venture, Genting Malaysia

After the brief training from one of the instructors for this sky diving adventure, everyone agreed that it was time to "Bring it on!"

It had been raining that day and they've stopped accepting guests to try out the sky venture, luckily our friends were patiently waiting when they decided it was ok to use the "tube" again! Heaps of guests were angry with the employees giving them reasons like "We only went to Genting to try this out and you won't accept anymore?!?!"
All they could say was, they didn't know the weather would turn out the way it did and so it wasn't their fault plus they didn't get any payment anyway.

The experience was exhilarating! We were laughing our heads off while watching each other fall, bump into walls and wipe the spit off our faces!! Too bad we couldn't take photos while we had our turn, BUT good thing there was video!

Here's our sky diving gear that smelled like somebody else's sweat!

[Travel] Phuket Fantasea

Phuket Fantasea can't be compared with any other place I've been before.

We got picked up by a tour bus, as always we were the last to be picked up, so we really didn't have a choice of where to sit. Sometimes Hunny sits in front, most of the time beside the door I just get thrown on what other seat there is in the bus/van. Yeah, we don't mind anyway.

Fantasea wasn't that far away from our hotel, the usual lining up before getting in except they skipped my name on the list so we had to be ushered in another counter.

The entrance was like a palace gate;it had golden pillars with elephants and gigantic paintings on the ceiling. At the counter they also offer you the dvd copy of the Elephant show. Which we bought just for the sake of having a souvenir.

Phuket Fantasea is like a carnival, theatre, souvenir shop, zoo and food court all at the same time! You will not get bored here! It has everything from kids to adults.

We loved the chicken hotdog and sweet corn in the small stalls before the souvenir shops. =) There were heaps of lady boys that you really won't know unless you see their adam's apple or hear them talk!

It's like a giant maze with lots of other places to check out before you get to your final destination where the final awesome Thai speaking show with no subtitles is: The Palace of the Elephants.

After the show we hurried and got our souvenir photos with real ladies and a lady boy who was more beautiful than the other two ladies (sorry!) Checked out our mobile phones, got on the bus and went home!

It was a cool show except for the fact that we didn't get the story line.
It was power rangers, farm people, mystic evil all in one!!

But a Good show: Must See :)

[Travel] Simon Cabaret

Where in Thailand can you find Lady boys, Ladies that you're not sure if they are ladies, comic relief, singing, dancing, funny role plays? I guess everywhere and anywhere... BUT the most famous one is Simon Cabaret.

Tour bus picked us up with some other Aussie tourists, it was kinda scary as it was raining and the road going to Simon Cabaret from our Hotel was up hill!! And my goodness, those Thai drivers are sometimes scary drivers! We arrived safely (Thank Goodness!) Tourists were welcomed and loved by Thai people. I loved it!

We paid for VIP seats so we're near the stage. We first came in and it felt like a bad decision to be in front as it made us the easiest target in case these performers think of some interaction with the audience! Hunny was somewhat "concerned" Haha!

Good thing when they performed they only targeted this particular Japanese teenager, it was funny and we feel sorry for the guy!

Singing was good, the performances were awesome too! As any other performances you are not allowed to take photos inside, but then after the show you are allowed to take photos with the performers with a special "tip". Which we didn't know and pissed off one of them. Haha! So I quietly walked away as there were heaps of other audience members that were in line for photos. Oops! My bad! =)

We got picked up by a different tourist bus and got dropped off first!

All in all, it was a funny night out for me and Hunny!

It was one of the best dinner dates so far...! We had the restaurant all to ourselves..

We had the Thai dinner Set A. Funny since we always ask for extra rice, when we try to call the waiters they already know and they bring it out straight away.. =)

Scrumptious food, very quiet ambiance, super friendly staff...

A relaxing night together! Lots of laughter, simple surprises and heaps of love!

Why Hunnymooners Travel?

We've only been to a few countries in Asia together, either we're a PDA couple without even knowing or the "Love" just shows!

Episode 1:
Danny from Thailand: "You here foh yoh honeymooon?"
Hunny: No
Me: Nope!
Danny from Thailand: "Looks like yoh here foh honeymoon" =)

Episode 2:
Teenagers watching Fantasea sitting next to Hunny(They probably thought we couldn't speak or understand English cause they didn't even tone down their voices with their conversation)

Guy1: Where's (so and so's name)
Girl1: Beside the Honeymooners!
Guy2: Oh yeah, they're from our hotel!

Hunny and I realising they were talking about us cause these Aussies were pointing at the chick beside Hunny! Psychos. Hahahahahaha!!

Episode 3:
Customs Officer at LCCT Airport(While checking our passports)
Customs Officer: "Ahh, you guys married ye?"
Hunny: "Not yet"
Me: "Soon!"
Customes Officer: "Ahh, ye, cause different names still, just holiday ye?"
Me: "Stopover before Singapore"
Customs Officer: "Ahh,marry soon ye"

I reckon that was the longest we had to wait to get some stamps from customs! Hahaha!

Episode 4:
Waitress from Singapore while taking our plates: Honeymoon?
Hunny: No no no... Just celebrating her birthday *points to me*
Me: =)

So, I thought it was funnny to be asked that wherever we go... =) Unless that's how they start a conversation with all other tourists! But we take it as a compliment =)

Next stop: Unknown =)
Will we get asked again if we're there for our honeymoon?

Probably.

[Wedding] Christ the King, Greenmeadows

[December 20,2009]

It was our first time to visit Christ the King Church in Greemeadows as a couple, I've been there heaps of times before but was always with family.. Today was the day when we secured the date of the wedding... September 8, 2010.

There was no changing the date, we would've desperately tried another church if CTK was not available anymore! Thankfully, our prayers were answered and there was one slot available since there will be other masses to celebrate Mother Mary's birthday. It will be our 7th year anniversary that day... Amazing!

We were lucky enough to pray and see the church while it was getting set up for a 4pm wedding.. The church looked solemn, very peaceful.. Now we know, how it feels like! *giggle*

All I can say is that I'm very lucky, I can't wait, It's going to be a great beginning for our journey...

June 21 2008 - Flight Perth - Phuket

Day1 - Saturday

My flight was via Thai Airways and I must say, this is one of the best airlines I've ever tried. Good Food, Good Service, best of all smooth landing. We bought everything in a tour package so there wasn't any hassles when I arrived from the airport. Most of the aussies I was with were part of the package tour I got so it was easy. I didn't feel lost as all even if this was the first time I had to explore a country that doesn't have English as their first language! It was brave for us I reckon, but then again my cousin went there before so I knew it was going to be a walk in the park.

Patong Merlin Hotel

Patong Merlin Hotel was by the beach. Travel time from Phuket Airport was about an hour and a half. I didn't mind the road trip cause it was around 4pm in the afternoon and Hunny's flight was arriving around 10pm. Upon arriving, there was a welcome drink, I forgot the flavour but I was not really ready to drink it cause it was green. It didn't have any smell so I doubt what kind of fruit that was. I tasted it in the end, not wanting to offend them, it didn't taste bad at all but it didn't taste like anything either. Meh. It was all good. Got the room keys, discount card and ID card for the hotel. I was escorted to the room which was far from the reception area but was a stone's throw from the beach and bars and night life! Room 2320 to be exact. Amazing views of the pool and spa area. I believe we got the best of both worlds, view or trees and they sky. Music by the bands at night. 5 minute walk to the beach. Amazing. We'll probably ask for the same room next time if given the chance!

The room was a good size. It had a Queen bed, a decent balcony to hang clothes and hang out at night (when mosquitoes are not buzzing around!), Cable TV, Room service, a small table with 2 chairs on the corner, Telephone, MiniBar, Good size bathroom. I believe we got value for money for this hotel. Everything and anything. I especially like the privacy. You have enough balcony space to look out but it had enough covering so your neighbors can't see your clothes waiting to dry!

Room Service

When Hunny arrived I knew he was hungry so we ordered room service. I ate at the restaurant earlier that night and one of the waiters that served me was the one who took the room service order to our room. When he arrived he smiled at us when he realised I was waiting for Hunny and I wasn't alone at Phuket! Hunny ordered club house sandwich and chips which he finished straight away!! What can I say, he loves them.

All I can say....

AMAZING.

How else can you describe Phuket?!

Picturesque views, weather wasn't so bad, it rained a couple of days but we were there during off peak so it was understandable. A lot of cheap shopping too!

Good thing the Aussie dollar was strong when we went there. 1AUD= 31Thai Baht

Patong Merlin Hotel was on the verge of getting renovated when we were there but the room we got was far from the reception area so we didn't hear any other noises except for the karaoke at night! (Which we didn't mind at all) =)

Hello dear reader!

This is a start of hopefully a long and lasting relationship. You reading. Me reading and writing about our travel. This blog will describe what, when, where,the weather, flight details, comments, reviews, rants, raves, what and what not, basically everything we can describe about the journey and of course the destination.

This is actually an overdue blog, we've went to a couple of countries but haven't done any reviews yet which I need to do soon!
